I'm SO EXCITED!!!
I'm beyond excited to say that I have been contacted by Cantata books to design 2 commissioned layouts for them!!!! OMG! This totally rawks my world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me? Yep, I had to make sure in the email that they were asking the right person!!! LOL
The best thing about this is that I'm gettin' PAID cold hard cash for it! So I must mark this special occasion by having a PAR-TAY!! Your all invited and I'm serving up fresh Margaritas for everyone! I might even get Trish D. to dance on the tables for ya! lol....she's gonna laugh so hard when I tell here that I'm spreading the rumor that she dances on tables......................... HAHAHAHAHAH!
OTHER NEWS....not exciting
My poor husband is really complaining about stomach pain. For the last couple of days he has wanted to go to the hospital, but then in the end sucks it up or chickens out. I think he's suffering from Gallstones problems or something. It seems very familiar to the symptoms I had last Christmas when I ended up in the hospital. Pain in chest, nausia, back pain.....overall crappy feeling.
I'm going to make him a doctors appointment Monday morning and get this all figured out. My honey is just not his regular self and I want him to feel better soon. :(

I've Been Tagged!
Well, the very cute and fun loving Miss Kristi Sauer has just Tagged me in her fun little "5 Random Facts about me" game! So here it goes........
1. I secretly want to go on American Idol. I know im such a loser for thinking that I could do it! I would love to have the talent and courage to sing a song informs of a live audience. I'm not that bad, but I'm definitely no Kelly Clarkson (whom I adore)!
2. During my pregnancy with Jaden, I went through a really rough time an ended up hospitalized for a week due to an inflamed pancreas. I could have lost my baby and I was just a mess. When I got sick I was forced to stay in a town I didn't know and hospital I had never been in before. I was away from my husband and family. Just thinking of the whole experience is making me cry now. One evening, my Grandfather, who had passed a way 2 years earlier, came to me in a dream. He told me not to worry. He said my baby was strong and we would both be ok. I feel he was watching over the both of us.
3. I am very accident prone. I think my poor son has inherited this from me. I don't even know how many times I have sprained my ankles, burned myself and fallen. I've somewhat put away my platforms and wear cute trendy flats because of it. I still, now and then, manage to fall anyway! lol
4. Some of the girls from ScrapJazz know that I worked at a place called Sanrio Surprises at the mall when I was like a Junior in High School. It's basically a Hello Kitty store. Well, guess who had to wear the full on "Hello Kitty" costume on the weekends? Yours truly. Can you imagine me, Miss. Accident prone, with this huge hello kitty head piece on and the big a$$ kitty mary janes? Not a good combination.......... :)
5. I met my dear husband while we both worked at Michael's in college. I must admit that I did try to set him up first with a co-worker. I thought he was a big 'ol dork and I ended up stealing him away from her! OMG ::hand covering mouth:: Yep I did. I'm not proud of that but it's true. They were on the verge of a breakup anyway, so I'll call it a wash. Eventually that dorkness bloomed into love and we married 4 years later! We still just two dorks in love! Ha!
So that's 5 little random ditties about me and I have to choose another person to tag. MMUUUAAHHHHH who is next?????????
I guess it's gotta be my scrappin' road dawg JAIME WARREN!!!!!
love ya babe!
Thats my story and I'm stickin' with it!!

Off Today so it's a Scrappin' Day!

It's 12:15 a.m. and I have been scrappin' all day! I got up, took Jaden to the babysitters and it was on like donkey kong! I was able to complete 4 layouts today, 2 cards and two tags. The majority of the work was for my gig at FS2M and the rest were for publication calls.
I was finally able to use my KI Memories Alphabet Soup letters today!! These things are so cool and they look delicious too. I mean they totally look like candy! I have to use these babies sparingly though. They cost a friggen and arm and a leg! I paid $13.25 for each little can! DANG Gina! I had to finally break down and buy them. I had to I tell ya! :)
I did take a break at 5:30 to pick up Jaden from the sitters. I met my mom and brother Fred at Ikebana's for dinner. We had some awesome Sushi. I got something called a Philadelphia Roll. It's salmon, avacado, cucumber and cream cheese. Totally yummy! Jaden, as usual, drove me nutzo and I had to leave early. I swear I cannot eat a decent comfortable meal with that child! He seems to be experiencing the terrible two's and he's not yet even two!!!!!!!!!! AAARRRGG! The joys of Motherhood.
Here's one of the layouts I did using my new KI paper courtesy of FS2M! This is my little stinker making that cute little face of his.
There are just not enough hours in the day for me. It's now 12:30 p.m. I must call it a day hit the sack. I have to be up in about 6 hours. Yuck! I want to sleep in!!
Peace out....CP

Men are like Ziplock Bags......
I just got this funny message in an email from my Compadre Eric (my son's Godfather). Props to Eric!! LMAO!
You may not know that many non-living things have a gender. For example:
1) Ziploc Bags -- They are Male, because they hold everything in, but youcan see right through them.
2) Copiers -- They are Female, because once turned off, it takes a while towarm them up again. It's an effective reproductive device if the rightbuttons are pushed, but can wreak havoc if the wrong buttons are pushed.
3) Tire -- Male, because it goes bald and it's often over-inflated.
4) Hot Air Balloon -- Male, because, to get it to go anywhere, you have to light a fire under it, and of course, there's the hot air part.
5) Sponges -- Female, because they're soft, squeezable and retain water.
6) Web Page -- Female, because it's always getting hit on.
7) Subway -- Male, because it uses the same old lines to pick people up.
8) Hourglass -- Female, because over time, the weight shifts to the bottom.
9) Hammer -- Male, because it hasn't changed much over the last 5,000 years, but it's handy to have around.
10) Remote Control -- Female...... Ha! You thought it'd be male. But consider this -- it gives a man pleasure, he'd be lost without it, and while he doesn't always know the right buttons to push, he keeps trying.

Ya Gotta Love This!

If you seriously don't smile when you look at this..........Brother, there is something wrong with you! A friend sent me this in an email and I had to share. How f'ing cute does this dog look? Granted it looks a bit petrified and is probably asking itself "what it did to deserve this?", but I'm loving it! I can't seem to make out the outfit. Is it a elf or a mouse of some sort? My bigger question is what in the heck is it supposed to be holding??????????
It's simple things like this that somehow bring joy to my life.
Enjoy!

Dave's Tat.....revealed!
The names in the Tattoo are Matthew, that one was easy to make out and read. The next one was a bit harder. It says Anthony! Now your going be able to make it out and say "Oh, now I see it!" His tattoos are like those pictures that you stare at for a hour and make yourself go cross eyed!
I've been really considering getting one for myself. Should I? What should I get? Where should I get it? Dave is no help. He tells me to get "DAVID" on my chest. Ok, Dave, I'm not branding myself with your name even if your my husband! Sheeeeeeeeeesh! I'm thinking of a really pretty cross or even a flor de lis............I don't know. Do you guys have any suggestions? I've always toyed the idea of getting "the love butt" on my arse. I'm totally kidding!
I got two more layouts for me done yesterday. I love love this one I did on my Mom Gloria. She is just so lovely. People never believe me when I say that she is 70 years old! "NO WAY!" is the response I always get. She looks really good for her age and carrys her self so well. She has always taken care of her skin and makes her self look pretty all the time. So I guess if you put time in effort in to your apperance, you'll look good no matter what your age is!

Kick-back Creative Sunday

Today has just been a relaxing day. Just a quiet day at home with my family. David is currently working on a tattoo that he is drawing for his friend. Belive it or not, he's actually a very talented artist and has created quite a few tattoos for friends and family. This one is really cool and I'm sure his friend is going to love it. It's almost complete, Dave just needs to finish up the top. Take a good look at it. Can you make out what it says?? I'll give you a hint............It's two names worked in the tribal style cross.
Yesterday my nephew Jose and his girfriend Shelly came down from Modesto to visit. We went to the brand spanking new 14 screen Maya Theater to catch the movie Red Eye. Rachel McAdams is in it, she was the girl from The Notebook (I *heart* that movie) I really liked Red Eye it was a thriller! Not really what you would expect from the director of all the Freddy Kreuger movies. It wasn't all gore and guts at all. After the movie, we went to a local brewery/restaurant called the Monterey Brewing Company for a late dinner. By the way, my nephew Jose is only like 2 years younger than me! So I wasn't contributing to the delinquancy of a minor! lol ;)
After we got home, they settled in and everyone went to bed. Not ME! I had the scrappin' vibe going and completed two layouts by 1 a.m.! One was an assignment for the September ScrapJazz Blue Crew Gallery and the other one was just for me! I finally got a chance to use my new Senic Route paper and I'm totally digging it! I added a few Doodlebug round opalescent sequins that I think look KEWL!

I'm hoping to finish the rest of my ScrapJazz assignments tonight. I should be getting my box of DT Goodies from FS2M on Monday and have to get that one done too! I can't wait to see what Janel put in our packs this month! Hey, BTW........we are having a huge contest at FS2M with an awesome prize package worth over $500! Go check out all the info at www.fromscrapstomemories.com!
Peace out! :) cp

Mashed Potato Madness

Check out my kid. We had chicken, stuffing, gravy and mashed potatoes for dinner tonight. I turned my head for like 2 minutes to serve myself up a plate and he plops a handful of Mashers on his head. NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE! I tell ya my kid drives me B A N A N A S!!!! But all this mess is worth that little smile of his!
I have been sooo super tired lately. Well, I guess it doesn't help that I'm up until 2 or 3 am scrappin', chatting with the girls on SJ and watching movies with my sweetie. This madness has allowed me to get 3 layouts done! So that is worth it to me and I really like the way they turned out. I got to use my Reno goodies! Those Artic Frog Rubons are fantastic! They are so huge! Like 3" tall! Very fun to use. The layouts are for ScrapJazz and will be ready to view on September 1st with the rest of the fabulous Blue Crew layouts! Be sure to check them out at ScrapJazz!
That's all for now! I do have some exciting news. I can't really elaborate just yet, so stay tuned!!!!!! It is Scrapbook related!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOO! :)
Later!! Peace OUT!

The Silent Treatment.....just to make ya laugh!
The Silent Treatment
A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving eachother the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day,he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,"Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it.The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

The $20 Dollar Taxi to the Scrapbook Store
I'm back from my 3 day stint in Reno. David and I went to Hot August Nights. Long story short..............we're broke now! Reno was not my friend.........had some good laughs with my sister, her hubby and some friends and lost some cash on the slots. Now on to the $20 taxi ride. So I'm up in the 17th floor of the El Dorado Hotel and Casino, totally down since I was losing my butt ::looks behind:: (that one is still there! lol) gambling. After sulking and watching Laguna Beach and Real World Austin re-runs, I decided to check out the phone book for Scrapbook stores. It seems like every city has one so I said "What the Heck?" and gave it a try. I figured I'd rather buy scrapbook supplies than continue to feed these dang machines!I found a place called "The Scrapbook Cottage".......Sounded great, so I gave them a call to see how far it was. The lady was really nice and says "We're having and all day crop!" Say no more lady, I was downstairs charging through the dang casino hailing a cab!
So I get in the cab and Pat, a woman who's smoking like a freight train, tells me it will be around 12 bucks to get there. Right on! $12 bucks was good for me! I get in and Pat starts with the small talk, my dog went to pound, my son is in rehab, I only make $5 dollars per fare ride..........yada yada. My mind was on the scrapbook store and monitoring that meter like a hawk. I keep on asking her are we there yet? Pat said she would take a short cut. Heh, a short cut. I should have known better. The meter was fast approaching $15 dollars and I'm thinking, I need to get out! I only have $30 cash on me! Then I tell Pat, "are we almost there?" I also mention that I only have $20 dollars (I lied) and I need to get off now. I'll walk the rest of the way. Pat stops the meter at $19.59 and tells me that she'll give me a break. Thanks Pat. Thanks a lot! $12 fare my azz! No tip for you lady!
The Scrapbook Cottage was an awesome store! I met the woman I spoke to over the phone (can't remember her name...something Ann) and she showed me all her new goodies from CHA! She had new Artic Frog (awesome big 'ol rubons!), Junkitz, Basic Grey, SEI, Diane's Daughters.......tons of stuff! I was in heaven! The store was hoppin' due to the crop. ::gasp:: I even saw a man scrapping! Whoa! He was a bit light in his loafers, but that's all good if that's what ya like! :)
I tell the Scrapbook lady about my expensive taxi and she said I got taken. Totally! She then suggested that I take the bus back to the Casino. THE BUS!!! Mind you, I've never been on the bus and never on the bus in a city I don't live in! Then she says "It's only $1.50.".........say no more lady!! That sounded just fine to me! Ann (i think) called and got the bus schedule for me and I continued to chat and shop. I told her about Scrapjazz and showed her my online gallery. She was way impressed! She let me use her internet to check email and surf a bit! Cool lady! If your ever in the Reno Area I highly recommend her store! www.ScrapbookReno.com
So $80 bucks later (i charged it baby!), I'm on the bus and cruising the city of Reno! I got a great tour of all the apartment complexes and I can tell ya that there is some weird people that get on the bus! I guess I was in great company, because my family and husband included thought I was a nut case going to the scrapbook store! After one bus transfer.........45 minutes later I was back in the casino! I went straight to my room and looked over all my goodies! I couldn't to a complete page since I didn't take any of my supplies.......I made a mental note of what I would do with the product!
Here's a picture of all my goodies mostly new stuff and bit of oldies too!! Please excuse the hideous rug.....that's the rug in my garage that was converted into my scrapbook room!
Peace out!
