One of my faves called "Fabulous, Crazy & Cool" got picked up by Scrapbook Trends! Ooooooooooh my girl Shelley will be so stoked cuz she's in it! Got that off in the mail yesterday! I sprinted (ok not really sprinted) to the Post office yesterday for that and made a pit stop at my LSS............check out these beyond adorable stamps!!! Yummy Hero Arts Flower stamps! Watch out for these babies in upcoming projects, I'll be sure to inject them into my layouts and cards!
Hello CUTENESS!

Got some scrappin' done last night....decided to finally tackle some Halloween layouts and ya know, I only had scraps of halloween KI paper and one piece of Karen Foster Halloween themed paper! In all my stash of papers, I couldn't believe I didn't have any much holiday themed paper. Just a bit of Basic Grey Blitzen and that's it! So I kinda mixed in some other everyday paper and I churned out 3 layouts and 2 cards! Yay ME! I do plan on submitting the cards to the Paper Trends halloween card call.........so wish me luck with these babies! :) CP

Farewells & New Beginnings

These layouts were made for a Design Team assignment over at Leaving-Memories.com. Kathy's march kit includes the fabulous OH GIRL papers by Basic Grey. I'm really excited to share that I have joined the Design Team at Scrap ETC!! I'm part of "IT!" Much love to Monique and the rest of the "IT" Girls! Looking forward to seeing you guys in April at the Scrap ETC Event in Alabama. I can't believe that it is only 5 weeks away!!

American Idol!

Last night I took Jaden to Doctors on Duty. I hate that place but he had a really high fever and was compaining that his ear hurt. Diagosis: Ear Infection, Cold. Got the meds and got home just in time to nuke a hot dog and watch American Idol!!!!!

I like the list format I did last week so we be doing that again!

1. Mandisa................loved her hair and outfit choice. Never heard that song before, so I coudn't compare it to the original at all. She was very Big Band to me, overall a good powerhouse performance. The girl is staying forshizzle!

2. Bucky, oh Bucky. It's time for this fella to kick rocks. Well, at least he didn't have Jessika Simpson chick hair this week. It totally looked like he was drunk to me. And all his funky microphone hand tricks were not helping the situation. Not good at all.

3. Paris.......this little chick is really an older woman that probably went to the fountain of youth and is disgusing herself as a 17 year old. That is the only explanation I can come up with. How does this little girl know how to put on an awesome performance and sing like that? We will see her next week forhizzle! And anyone know about the significance of that crown looking pin she wears everyweek?

4. Chris.......is there something wrong with me, cuz I wasn't feeling it. It may be due to the fact that I never really have listened to Johnny Cash or went to go see the movie. It sounded like last week to me. Sorry Chris fans.......I still think he's a fine piece of dude. Break me off a piece of that. Pretty sure he's staying put.

5. Taylor...........for me, well I don't think he showed his vocals off at all with this song. Plus I didn't like his Pee Wee Herman outfit.

6. Lisa...........I'm not sure about that performance. It seemed a bit off to me, low in parts then as always she makes up for it at the end with a big bang. She's a big ballad girl and I'm not sure if she can swing songs like this.

7. Kevin/Chicken Little............whoa, CL got some new glasses! He sang a song that I adore and I hate to say that he wasn't half bad. Aside for his quirky little look and lisp it was ok for me. That is saying alot since I really don't like him. I fear that CL will be staying another week.

8. Elliot............I like him. The general pub may not, but I like the rich tone to his voice and dare I say, he looked kina cute last night? It seems like they tried to fix his comb down square forhead ceazar do'.

9. Kelly............the person that did her make up needs to be shot. Why did they put so much blush on her? Jeez AI makeup person, take it easy! She worked the crowd and the camera and I thought she did okay I guess. It was wierd the way she kept on saying "Searching".......sounded like a different language. I kept on laughing my azz off eachtime she sang it. HA!

10. Ace..........didn't like the beginning of the song, he sounded ok through the middle and then the falsetto. I kinda liked when he did the falsetto in the beginning of the competition but now, it's kinda annoying. I just kept on wondering what he would look like without his Constantine hair. Speaking of Constantine, did you see him an his hideous pout. Yuck, plus what in the heck is wrong with Ryan Cabrera........bad, bad hair. Flock of Seaguls anyone?

11. Katherine ............I love this chick. She is just so beautiful. I think I have a crush on her.......that's saying a lot because I am a straight married woman. Her performances are effortless. Dig her, loved her hair and attention American Idol Makup artist........this is the way you should put make up on poor orange blush Kelly!

Someone has been a Busy Bee!

The Scrappin' Mojo was flowin' yesterday! I had a blast creating these layouts yesterday! I chilled at home, had the day off and scrapped my bootie off!

Loved getting more into the new Basic Grey papers! Yummy mix of patterns and colors. LOVIN' IT!

American Idol

Ok, I'm late here but here are my thoughts on the results show.

WTF! That is what I thought when Ace was put in the bottom. I cannot believe that he was put there over Kevin!!!!!!!!! The world has gone to hell in a handbasket. Chicken little's fan base is crazy or someone is playing an evil trick with the AI votes. That was just not right. My jaw hit the floor! Like seriously! After my mild heart attack, Melissa was voted into the bottom 3 too. I was OK with that decision, I mean she did mess up Deanna's song and all. ;)

Then the next blow. WTFx2! Lisa voted into the bottom? LISA? Comefriken on People! I thought it would have been Bucky at least, nope. Him and his chick hair were staying for at least another week. Damn.

So my friend Misty ( Hey Misty, Holla!) pointed out to me that Lisa did not HUG Melissa after she was pardoned to stay antoher week on AI. Seemed a bit rude, but I'm going to chalk that one up as Lisa just being excited, not bitchy. We'll see!!!

American Idol..........

So last night was the top 12 show!!!!!!!!! I was so pumped to watch!

Here is just a running list of thoughts about the show:

1. Taylor Hicks.........the dude is so cool in an old school kind of way. Funny dancing but I was diggin it!

2. Katherine McPhee......so pretty, beautiful voice....love her. Kept singing that song the rest of the evening. I really don't care for those empire waist dresses, she looked preggers.

3. Chris......Can he do no wrong????????? Plus the dude is hot. Nuff said.

4. Paris.......great stage presence, awesome voice. She's a mini powerhouse! Loved her cute little outfit and shoes.......didn't like her two pony tail hair during rehersals, at all....reminded me of a cocker spaniel??? Loved the curly bob instead.

5. Kellie Pickler is so dang country dude!.......... and cute. I don't care that the song was not her best performance, but I think her personality is just adorable. "I got fake eyelashes on!" so cute!

6. Loved how they all got vaklempt in the presence of Mr. Stevie Wonder. That was cute. Especially Elliot. AWWWWWWWWWWWW.

7. Each and every week I love Paula Abdul's hair. I want Paula Abdul hair dammit.

8. Chicken little is getting a bit cocky, eh?

9. As much as I like Ace, he didn't wow me. I'm not a fan of the performing in the audience thing.

10. Bucky looked like a chick with girl hair. At least it looked fresh and clean.

11. Simon needs to get a new wardrobe..........like in a seriously bad way.

12. Mandisa needs to wear shoes............girlfriend can sing, but we all know that.

13. I can't believe that Mellisa got away almost scott free from butchering Mr. Wonder's song. I mean not just once but...........in front of him and on stage twice! RJ Helton from season one did not fair as well after his forgotten lyrics......but we havent' seen who is going home yet.

14. Elliot Yamin still lookes like Mr. Tamnus to me. Looks like he has hit the crestwhite strips box and that's a good thing.

15. Lisa, yeah she's safe. Is it me that only notices that she makes faces like she is in pain while singing?

16. Randy is mean this year. Dawg.

It's my Mom's Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! I love you!

Look at this lady............this was last year at her 70th birthday bash we threw for her. It was such a great evening........family, friends, awesome food and mariachis!

We'll be going to dinner tonight to celebrate this awesome woman I'm blessed to have as my Mom.

American Idol Dudes........

Can someone tell Gideon that when you paint on a piece of stretched canvas, your supposed to use the front, not the back where the wood frame is???????? And.....how funny is his speaking voice? Cracks me up! I really don't care for him but I think he's staying.

Ace, as far as I'm concerned, he ACED it! I'm kind of upset that he didn't take my suggestion of Truly, Madly, Deeply...HA! He did sing a kinda unknown Michael Jackson song, but I loved it and the "FALSE" as our Dawg Randy says, was HOT! Loved him in is skull cap too, oh and the ACE Stare at the end. Awesomeness.

I did like Taylor also. He totally sang the crap out of that Michael McDonald song. Although, his head titly thing and arm crank dance was kinda wierd, I give him madd props!

Chris was good, but again, didn't heed my advice and sing that Edwin McCain song. Seether was ok I guess but not my fav performance of his. He has no worries, boyfriend is here to stay!

So who's my pick to go home?????????

I think it's going to be Chicken Little (Kevin), the Brady Kid and just for good mesure, I'm sticking Bucky in the bottom 3. I wouldn't be sad if any of them went home.

Project Runway

Chloe!!!!!!!! Chloe was chosen as the winner of Project Runway! I know im totally going to sound bandwagonish but, even though the 1st dress (pink poofy mess) was totally hidious, I did like the rest of her stuff. Especially the baby doll one with the pockets. Good for her!!!!!!!!!

Santino's line I thought was better than Danny V.'s but I'm no Deborah Messing (WTH? was that a random host or what?) so, I had no say in the matter. I was very surprised that they let him go.

He's Safe in Daddy's Arms

This is one I did last night. I put it together, took it apart and re did it. I wanted to use my Heidi Swapp mask but I didnt' have any spray paint and I just made a freaking mess with acrylic paint............so therefore, it called for a re-do. Well, more like a start over.

Really happy with the results. I left it on the kitchen table last night so David would see it when he got up at the crack of dawn for his morning coffee before work. He called me at about 10 a.m. to tell me how much he loved it!

So sweet.

American Idol

Tonight is American Idol!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOO!! I'm totally excited!! Let's see how they do!!!!!!! Looking foward to good performances by Katherine, Mandisa, Lisa, Ayla and Paris. Kelly, Kennik and Melissa better bring it tonight! I fear these will be the bottom 3. Remember friends, I was on point last week in guessing that Kennik, Heather and Brenna would be in the bottom! Chicken Pox Update

My Jaden is finally getting better. Still kind of icky but back to his jumping off the walls normal self. Hopefully he won't end up with scars from the pox. Look at him, poor thing. :(

I felt bad for the others leaving though. It must be so hard to sing right after your whole dream has been crushed. I'm seriously waiting for the day someone just drops the mic, gives the finger and storms off the stage. Might happen. Ya never know. On second thought, they are probably bound by a contract to sing.

These people need to understand that DAWG, picking the right song is the KEY!! Let's see what the gang has in store for us next week.

I would really love for Chris to sing Edwin McCain's "I could not ask for more"........ hearing the softer side of Chris would be awesome.

"Truly, Madly, Deeply," by Savage Garden would be my choice for Ace.

I haven't really thought about what I would like for the rest of them but GOOD LUCK to them!!!

Oh YEAH! Here are some random photos from the Scrapbook Expo I went to last week in Santa Clara, CA. I went with my scrappin' pal Stacey, shopped, shopped, and shoped some more! I did score the new Basic Grey Urban Coture line..........still haven't worked with it, but I will soon! On our way out we got lost trying to find the exit and lookie what we saw!!! SEI trucks! How are two grown women excited to see SEI trucks? Well, we were and took pictures of ourselfs in front of the truck! DORKS!!!

EASY BUTTON

Ya know those commercials with the Easy Button that people press to make things easier for them. Well, if I had one I would have been pressing the hell out of it. Chicken pox and a 2 year old is pure misery. He's had fevers, no appetite, he's a big 'ol grouch and just not fun these days. Hard nights of him crying too. AAAAAAAAAH the joys of parenthood.

His pox have started to dry out now on day 5. He looks pretty bad at the moment, I just want to cry. Good thing is that he is feeling better than he looks.

I did snap a few pictures of him all polka dotted out with calamine lotion all over his face. I do plan to scrap some of them. Lot's of pink paint will be involved in the creation of this layout...and maybe some Heidi Swapp Pink polka dot tape!

Happy to share that I got an email from Alisha over at Cards! Yay! Keepin' the streak alive! Gotta go to the post office!

My sister came over yesterday to see Jaden and she had never seen my published work before. So I pull out the Cards Books ( i like to refer to them as books since they are not really a mag to me) and she was WAY impressed! She tells me "why haven't I ever seen these?" and I replied "Uh, cuz you didn't seem interested, dork." Now she wants to take all the books to the hospital where she works and show them off. ::rolls eyes::

PROJECT RUNWAY/AMERICAN IDOL

OMG did you watch! Santino scares me. Does he not remind you of the group of three bad guys from Krypton in the SuperMan movies with Christopher Reeve? Mixed in with that mean ghost that taught Patrick Swayze to kick a can from GHOST? anyway........that was totally off topic.........back to the show!

Santino's line is going to kick azzzz and he is soooooo going to win this!

Danny V: as much as I like him, I was not wowed. And for some reason I think his model looks wierd. But i like him and would so love for him to win. And no I did not like his handbags.

Chloe: WTF? Did you see the hidious pink puffy prom dress crap she did? EWWWWWWW.

My chicken pox kid did not allow me to see the last 10 minutes of the show, dangit!

I did wonder why the heck Chloe picked Diana (ugh, that voice of hers!!! aaakk!) to help her with her final project????? She could have picked Kara at least. Guess she had her reasons and some ear plugs.

American Idol

I was dissapointed. My boyfriend Ace, did not wow me with his take on Daniel Bedingfield's awesome song. It seemed slow, not at the right pace. Last weeks choice of Father Figure was sooo much more suited for his voice............but he did do the Ace Stare and the hair thing. The dude is hot, so he's stayin'!

How in the heck did I forget my other boyfriend, Chris????????? Chris Rocked it out last night. He has no worries......as Simon would say "He has the XXX factor"...well not that many X's but you guys know what I mean! He's awesome and will be in the top 12 FO SHO MAN!

Elliot Yamin.....he sings really well. I'm rooting for this guy. I like him but he really needs some Crest Whitestrips like baaaaaaaad. Why do I think he looks like Mr. Tamnus from The Chronicals of Narnia???? Does he or am I trippin?

Geideon......... I'm torn with this guy. His vocals are good, no doubt about that. He makes me laugh when interviewed. But he's quite a performer, very throughback as they say on Idol. He'll get through to the top 12.

Will Makar..........Singing "Lady". I'm calling him the Brady Kid. He looks like a Brady Bunch kid! He was ok.......sounded like a completley different person from last week. Shows versatility..........and OMG did I feel old when he said he watched since he as 12. Dang this show has been on for 5 years?

I seriously think I have never missed an episode. OLD and LOSER>>>>>>>>>> HA!

Sway and David are probably on their way out tonight along with Brenna (I can't stand her!!!!) and Heather (she sang "Hero") and maybe even Kinnik.
